If you have ever experienced a situation in which you could not buy a product or service from one EU Member State simply because you were living or your payment card was issued in the second one, we would like to present you some good news.

From 3rd December 2018, this kind of geo-blocation will no longer bother you. On that date, a new Regulation (EU) 2018/302 of the European Parliament and of the Council on addressing unjustified geo-blocking and other forms of discrimination based on customers' nationality, place of residence or place of establishment within the internal market, came into force.

The European Commission declares in its press release, that “Europeans will not have to worry about a website blocking or re-routing them just because they, or their credit card, come from a different country. Wherever they are in the EU, they will be able to access goods and services online.”.
